You can make more money, get promoted, and build a career that looks successful on paper and still dread going to work on Monday.
I see this with attorneys who have already achieved many of the things they thought would make work feel better.
The bigger paycheck came. The promotion came. The impressive title came.
And they still feel drained, disconnected, or frustrated with their work.
Part of the reason is that your job meets some needs and misses others. You may need more autonomy, more recognition, stronger relationships at work, more security, or more challenge in what you do each day.
Two attorneys can have the same title and salary and have completely different experiences because they need different things from their work.
That is one reason I encourage attorneys to look at what they actually need from their work before deciding that another promotion or a new job will solve the problem.
I created an Attorney Confidence Cheat Sheet to help you start thinking more clearly about yourself, your career, and the decisions you are making.
